  • Scope and Content
Has arranged lectures, and provides details. Is using the Union (hence the letterhead), and found it useful for working for his essay - it has a good library and subject catalogue. Several of 'the men' are down; Illingworth has got a civil engineering post in Egypt. Karr is rusticated (suspended) till he has passed 'Smalls' examination. Yesterday was the college meeting for the election of officers for the various athletic clubs. Reid is captain of boats and Wilson secretary. Greenfield is captain of soccer and cricket, Davitt of rugger. Das the Indian is secretary of cricket. The three freshers on the writer's staircase are scholars. 'the other freshmen seem to include a great number of men who have knees and hearts and can't do things, which is a great pity.' Sorry John's arrangements don't seem to be working out as originally planned.
