- Scope and ContentTo Frederick Richardson of Cranfield & to Frederic Thomas Tanqueray Esquire, Clerk of the Court of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at Ampthill . Take notice that I, Joseph Savage of Cranfield in the said County, dealer, being aggrieved by the herein after mentioned conviction do intend at the next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden at the Shire Hall , Bedford on 1st January 1919 to appeal against my conviction by the Court of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at Ampthill aforesaid on 10th October 1918 whereby I was convicted & sentenced to two months imprisonment for having unlawfully assaulted & beaten the said Frederick Richardson on 30th September 1918 at Cranfield aforesaid & that the following are the grounds of this my appeal :-That I am not guilty of the said offence. That there was no or no sufficient evidence to justify the said conviction. That the sentence was excessive. Signed Joseph Bettle Savage dated 14th October 1918
