Comments about dances he has attended. Writer and Gina went to the club dance last week, only to find it was cancelled as it was Ash Wednesday. This afternoon intend to bike to Great Horkesley to see the Lermitte’s hospital. On Tuesday 4 of us are going to the Hippodrome. Gina and the writer went last night and it was 'hopelessly bad.' On Wednesday week the Hadows are coming for the night; going to the club in the afternoon and the Hippodrome in the evening. The Hadows have at last got a house in Chelmsford; writer believes it is awfully nice but tiny. The missing trousers have been found - they were in a suitcase the writer had borrowed from the Binghams. Evelyn Byng is coming to lunch on Saturday week. Aunt Nora [Carruthers] is now a married woman and has returned from her honeymoon, which consisted of three days in Town. She is now Mrs Byers. Asks mother to send his copies of 'Who's Who' and two dictionaries, ordinary and medical. Had a medical board the other day - the decision was the same as usual. Noticed in the remarks column that the injury, sustained on duty, was severe and might be permanent. Hopes it won't be. Asks if father could pay allowance at the beginning of the month, and subtract the £6 the writer owes him. Two months allowance would be helpful, as has to pay doctor, dentist and part of tailors bill. Is still going to the dentist; has had about 20 sittings, but there was a lot to do and might as well get it all done while he can. The dentist is supposed to be good, but is expensive. Has not yet got the money for the motor bike. The people in London have not yet sold the car. It is cheaper to leave it there as they garage it for free; if it was in Colchester would have to pay 30s a month to garage it. Has a wtitten staement from them, so wont be 'done over' as he has been with the motor bike. Asks of mother's leg is better.
