  • Scope and Content
I am acting as solicitor for the Bedford Rural District Council. I produce an application made by William John Guntrip, James Marshall,& John Braybrook to the Rural District Council to divert the footpath leading from the Kimbolton Road to Ravensden over Mowsbury Hill. It is dated 18th September 1917. The plan A is the plan which accompanied the Application. In the consequence of the Application I received instructions to prepare an Agreement dated 26th January 1918 now produced. The owner of the land over which the new highway is to run (William John Guntrip) & other applicants James Marshall & John Braybrook agreed to fence off the same to the satisfaction of the Surveyor of the Rural District Council & make it firm & solid & so more commodious. The owner Applicants & the Rural District Council have executed the Agreement. At the same meeting (26th January 1918) when the seal was affixed the clerk received instructions to comminicate with the Ravensden Parish Council with a view to obtaining their consent & I was instructed on such consent to apply to the Justices to view. I produce a copy of the Resolution having first examined it with the original & found it correct. On 26th March 1918 at a meeting of the Parish Council of Ravensden, duly convened, the said resolution was passed. The Resolution produced is signed by the Chairman & Clerk. I caused the notice produced with plan attached to be affixed to Ravesden Church Door. No Parish Meetung in oppostition to the proposal having been held a further meeting of Ravensden P C was duly convened & held on 3rd June 1918 when a confirmatory resolution was passed. On 29th June I appied to the Justices to view. On 2nd July the Justices viewed & I was ordered to see that the statutory Advertisments were issued. I produce the Bedfordshire Standard Newspaper of 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th July containing the advertisment. Signed Alex Morrison.
