  • Scope and Content
Delighted to receive very neat letter. 'We are awfully pleased to hear you are so happy doing your bit.' Anxious about daughter's ablutions if the water is cold in the morning. Nicholas went to his medical board and has been given 3 months more; parents are pleased. He has not yeat heard when he gets moved on to Colchester. Mother is going up to town [London] tomorrow about a housemaid. Writer arrived home early toaday and found Mrs Higgins; they played bridge. She sends her love and says she can introduce Virginai and Marigo to some people in their neighbourhood if they would like. All the animals are well. Kathie was selling provisions at a bazaar for the Blue Cross and their stall collected £60 in one day. Recounts being mistaken for a taxi driver by new officers arriving at Turvey station. Mention of Zeppelins. Would be inteested to hear about the work Marigo and Virginia are doing. Had another huge melon for dinner tonight - excellent. Some new gramophone records have arrived. Have not yet heard whether Nicholas is coming on Friday. The chickens are 'doing their bit' 6, 10, 6, 11 eggs.
