    To Frederick Thomas Tanqueray of Woburn Bedford, the Clerk of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at Woburn & to Thomas John Vincent of Woburn Inspector of Police. I, John Edwin Andrews of Charlton Cross Farm, Toddington in the County of Bedford aforesaid, Farmer, do hereby give you & each of you, notice that it is my intention at the next general Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden in Bedford to appeal against a ceratin conviction of me by the Court sitting 26th April 1918 at Woburn in the said County, for having on 19th February 1918 at Toddington unlawfully committed an offence against the Defence of the Realm Regulations by contravening an order to wit the Wheat, Rye & Rice (Restrictions)order 1917 by permitting to be damaged a certain quantity of Wheat to wit a sack of wheat standing in a field near to Salt Lane Toddington aforesaid so as to render the same less fit for the purposes for which under the said Order it is reserved. The General grounds of such an appeal are; That I am not guilty of the said offence That the fine of £50 or any other fine or Order should not have nbeen imposed upon mw. that the decison of the Justices was against the weight of evidence produces by the defence.
