Sylvia Constance Wiles (1919-2009) and Pearl Wiles (1926-c2008) were the daughters of Charles Wiles and Ivy Page. Charles and Ivy had married in the December quarter of 1916 in the Bedford area. Sylvia's birth was registered in the St Neots area but by the time of Pearl's birth the family were settled in Ravensden. Both girls attended Ravensden school. In 1941 Sylvia joined the Women's Auxiliary Air Force and in 1942 Sylvia married William Adams of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent at Over Wallop, Hampshire. After the war Sylvia and Bill settled in Bedfordshire, first at Ravensden, then Bedford, and latterly at Wootton. Bill predeceased his wife. Sylvia died on the 29 April 2009 at Bedford Hospital.
