    Assignment of lease i) Sol Safford, Basmead, Eaton Socon, yeoman i)) George Williams, St Neots, Huntingdonshire, gentleman i) assigns to ii) property orginally leased by him under lease of 14 September 1744 from Joseph Danvers of Swithland, Leicestershire, for 21 years at rent of £84 - Manor house at Basmead etc late in occupation of Robert Cope - Norris Close, Lye Meadow, the Ly Pairtree Piddle, Roberts Close, the Shaddows, the Ox Yard, Great Hook Field, the Old Hop Ground by the Moat Side, the old Milking Yard in Hook Fields, Hook Wood, with the Moated Place and Cakes Meadow, all in Basmead (90 acres) all pieces of meadow to be grazed and not ploughed. - lands held in tillage -- part of West Hall adjoining the Lye and Roberts Close, other part of West Hall with the Hop Ground, Corner Close, part of Great Cow pasutre that joins to Roberts Close, part of Cow Pasture that adjoins to West Hall, part of Cow Pasture with gate into Mr Fishers Field, part of Cow Pasture adjoining Hook Wood and Elkins, Little Hook Field, part of Cow Pasture adjacent to Home wood, the Hook field adjoining Middle Coppice and the Corner Hook Field (90 acres) to be held by ii) for remainder of said term signature of i) Endorsed witnesses Silvester Oliver, Jonathan Park. 5 April 1756 Also endorsed with assignment of lease to John St Leger Douglas from G Williams, 12 March 1757, and with surrender to Sir John Danvers 'the present owner' of the property, by John St Leger Douglas, 6 April 1757
