Between (i) William Hugh Wade-Gery, Richard Wade-Gery, both of Bushmead, Beds, Esquires and (ii) Richard Robert Melcombe and Charles Melcombe, known as 'Melcombe Bros, builders', Bedford
Consideration £164.17s.6d paid to (i) by (ii)
(i) convey to (ii)
- piece of land on west side of new road called Rothsay Road and south side of new street called Gery Street (being part of lot 178 of Bower Building Estate) containing 6660ft - as in plan on deed
- right of passage over said roads and to use drains and sewers to hold free from tithe and land tax which have been redeemed (ii) convenant with (i) that they will keep in repair half of Rothsay Road and half of Gery Street opposite the land hereby conveyed until it shall be taken over by the Corporation of Bedford
- (ii) also covenant with (i) that they will erect one house of not less that £600 on said land. Main wall of said building not to be nearer to Rothsay Road than 17ft or to Gery Street than 10ft.
- (ii) will not permit business of innkeeper, victualler or retailer of wines, spirits or beers, or any trade or profession save those of barrister, solicitor, physician, surgeon, apothecary, architect or surveyor to be carried on upon said piece of land
- no building material to ve laid on said road with permission
- (i) acknowledge right (ii) to production of deeds as in schedule
