    1) John James Shilcock of Hitchin, auctioneer. 2) Emma Poulter wife of Thomas Poulter of Highlands Campton, cattle dealer. 3) William Harwood of Shefford, coachbuilder. Recites: - mortgage of 4 Aug 1896 William Tompkins to Mary Dear. - death of William Tompkins on 29 Nov 1896 leaving son William Nicholas Tompkins heir and his widow Jane administrator of his estate. - death of Jane Tompkins 8 Dec 1899. - William Nicholas Tompkins executed a deed of assignment with power of sale for the benefit of his creditors dated 5 June 1901 and made between William Nicholas Tompkins and John James Shilcock and his creditors fo the third part. J J Shilcock has agreed to sell the copyhold hereditaments to William Harwood for £6275. Outstanding amount of mortgage paid. All that piece or parcel of land in Mepershall having a return frontage of 171 feet to the Clifton and Meppershall Roads and being lot two at a sale by auction held at the White Hart Hotel, Shefford on the 5th July 1901 and bounded by lots one and three sold to Emma Poulter and James Pepper and by the roads leading to Clifton and Meppershall.
