Recalls soldiers at the Canadian encampment in the fields around Ivy Lane sharing chocolate rations and rice pudding. Visits by parents. Memories of school in Wilstead and exploring local woodlands. Transfer to Owen's Grammar School in Bedford and St Aloysious' School, Bedford, billeting with a Mr and Mrs Pearce in Queens Park, Bedford
