- Scope and ContentErnest Holmes was charged on 30th December 1911 that on 23rd December 1911 did unlawfully & feloniously steal take & carry away 2 boxes of Cigars together of the value of 6 shillings & 6 pence the goods & chattles of Smith & Small Ltd. And the charge being read to the said Ernest Holmes and the witnesses for the prosecution being severally examined in his presence, the said Ernest Holmes was asked if he wished to say anything in answer to the charge. Whereupon Ernest Holmes said the following ; I have nothing to say Taken before me at the Court House Luton, in the Borough aforesaid, on the day & year first above mentioned. He was asked if he desired to call any witness, , in answer to such demand the said Ernest Holmes neither called or desired to call any persons. Signed George Warren
