- Scope and ContentSlip End, Luton. October 14th 1911. Sir, On hearing that a former employee of mine Amos Clark was arrested and is to be charged with breaking into premises at Peel St. Luton at the coming Quarter Sessions at Bedford. It is some years since I employed him but I wish to state that I always found him quite honest in the business transacted and the cash received on my behalf. He was employed by the former proprietor of the business I now work Mr. J [W] Holt who gave him good character for honesty and after leaving me, again entered his employ at Park Street Islington and was with him there some years. May I venture to hope that the court will deal leniently with him. I am Sir Yours Very Truly Charles Gentry Clerk of the Peace Bedford.
