  • Scope and Content
The plates in this series were received in two boxes neither of which was very clearly identified. One box had a sticker indicating that it related to Bedford School but it is not known when these stickers were applied or by whom. Some of the plates are clearly of buildings associated with the school, others may be interiors of the boarding house at 27 De Parys Avenue but see descriptions for explanation of alternative possibility. Many of the pictures are of groups of boys with a man and a woman - possibly the master and the housekeeper. . These images were taken at different times and locations and so may indicate pictures taken once a year of boarders at the boarding house. No attempt has been made to arrange the photographs by date or to establish whether the same boys appear in more than one photograph. The final set of plates are of cast members of drama productions by Bedford School some of which are inscribed JEM (John Edward Morris, a master at Bedford School. J E Morris and his brother Henry Smalley Morris lived at 27 De Parys Avenue in 1914 they had been at another of the Bedford School boarding houses in 1911).
