    1/2 leather (sheep) bound volume with marble paper sides. Paper watermarked 1813. The name Geo Aikin in ink on the flyleaf. Begins with a copy of the genealogie of the family of the Wingates of Sharpenhoe...collected 1634 and revised 1648 by Fra Taverner. p. 4 Of the family of Belverge whence the family of Wingate are descended by the matche of John Wingate with the daughter and heire of Nicholas Belverge in the reigne of K Ri 2d. p. 19. Of the familye of Wingate... p. 81 The names of those of the family of Wingate that have been buried in the south aisle of Streatly church. Marriages in the register at Streatley, Christenings. p. 83 burials at Harlington [up to 1780 in ink and annotated in pencil]. pages 85-98 blank. p. 98-116 Aiken - pedigree beginning in the 1750s. [George Aikin 1774-1847 is described as being buried at Harlington. He had issue: William Orton; Anna Letitia who married Rev Thomas Pearse vicar of Westoning and Harlington, 3rd son of Theed Pearse; John Wingate and Arthur Jennings (settled as a chemist in Maldon Essex.] Continues in pencil up to 1859 on page 117-118. After this the remaing pages are blank but many loose papers have been inserted. Note of documents No 1-6 lent to Mr Rix in 1851 on the back of a rough pedigree of 'Jennings A Lychton in Shropshire'.
