Title
Extract from 'The Family of Love in English Society 1550-1630' by Christopher W. Marsh
Dutch mystic Hendrick Niclaes set up a fellowship, The Family of Love in the 1540s. Members were often persecuted and the Familists became secretive and not easy to trace. The extract examines in detail the will of John Creake of Biggleswade a Familist who died in 1596 which included bequests for the sustenance and promotion of the fellowship and also gives an insight into the family life of Familists.
