Before the Court of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at the Magistrates Court Luton, 15th January 1908 Arthur Thomas Day was convicted that on 8th January 1908 in Luton he did unlawfully steal take & carry away a quantity of cigars & cigarettes & a bax of matches to the value of 2 shillings, 9 pence halfpenny of the goods & chattels of William Horn & Stanley Williams. The defendant to be imprisoned at St Albans and kept at hard labour for one month. signed Harry Arnold, Edwin Oakley, Justices of the peace for Luton.
