  • Title
    History of the Hewlett and Blondeau company by Eric G. Brain, published in Stationary Engine. Mrs Maurice Hewlett became Britain's first licensed woman pilot in 1911. She set up a company with Gustav Bondeau to make Farman, Caundron and Hanriot aircraft under license, initially at the Omnia site in Clapham, London. In 1914 they bought a field in Leagrave to build Farnan aircraft. Towards the end of the first world war they diversified into agricultural machinery. The factory closed in 1920.
