  • Title
Copy of article from Buses Illustrated No 8; 'W. B. Richardson and the London Central'. The company, formed in 1895 as The New London & Suburban Omnibus company, largely operated in London but in May 1912, when it had become the New Central Omnibus company, it opened a new depot at Bedford. 12 buses were working there by December of that year. Mr Richardson left the company in 1913 after it was leased by the L.G.O.C., and he opened a new company in Wellingborough. The Bedford depot was requisitioned by the government on 23 November 1914 and the fleet of 30 buses was commandeered. Gives some details of an earlier motorbus business in Bedford formed by W. Burridge in 1909.
