- Scope and ContentTo, The Clerk of the Court of Summary Jurisdiction for the Bedford Petty Sessional Division in the County of Bedford and to Superintendent James Anniwell of theCounty Police Station, Gadsby Street Bedford aforesaid. Take notice that I the undersigned, do intend to enter and prosecute an appeal at the next Quarter Sessions of Peace in Bedford on 3rd January 1912 against a certain conviction bearing the date on 2nd December 1911 and made by F A Wythes Wythes, H S Deacon, W Conquest, W Bayley and W Roff, Esquires, Justices of the Peace for the county of Bedford whereby I the said Walter Giddings was convicted of having on 25th September 1911 for the purpose of obtaining a licence to remove certain swine from Eastcotts in the said county of Bedford unlawfully made a declaration false in a material contary to Section 53sub section 5 of the Diseases of Animals Act 1894. and that the grounds of the said appeal are:- 1) That I am not guilty of the said offence 2) That the conviction is bad and against the weight of the evidence and that I did not know of this falsity (if any) contained in the said declaration neither could I with reasonable diligence have obatined knowledge therefor although I did use reasonable and proper diligence before making such a declaration. That I acted upon the information supplied to me by the proposed consignee of the said swine. All of which premises you and each of you are hereby desired to take notice.
