    1) Henry William Johnson of the Homestead, Hornsey Lane, Middlesex, gentleman 2) Alfred Ward of Balliol House, Wentworth Street, Whitechapel, Middlesex, architect Consideration: £75 All that piece or parcel of land situated in the parish and borough of Dunstable, Bedfordshire and on the west side of and adjoining High Street, the position and extent whereof are indicated by the plan drawn hereon whereon the site thereof is coloured pink and which constituted Lots 3 - 4 iof the lands delineated in the lithographed plans published with the particulars of Mr R J Colliers sale by auction on 28 August 1889. Reciting: Sale of land by 1) to 2) for consideration above. All details of first schedule and second schedule as per item Z1362/7/2 Plan attached to front of conveyance. Five pieces of correspondence between Richard J Collier & Henderson Auctioneers, Henry William Johnson and Middleton & Gutteridge, dated 18 September 1893 - 28 October 1893 regarding sales of these lots and discrepancy in price agreed. Johnson writes in letter (vi) to Middleton & Gutteridge - "I certainly should not have agreed to Ward having his conveyance if I had known of this hanky panky business. Ward is one of the cute class."
