- Scope and ContentRecites: - Deed of 15 July 1650 Edmund Wingate, Button Wingate and Henry Chester to Anthony Webb and John Woods of Hackney. - all that messuage or tenement with the appurtenances situate and being in Wootton with the lands thereunto belonging containing by estimation 74 acres then or late in the tenure of Henry Honor or his assigns and now of the said Button Wingate, and all that messuage or tenement in Wootton with appurtenances and lands containing by estimation 24 acres then or late in the tenure of John Flint and now of the said Button or his assigns and all those two closes of pasture ground in Wootton containing by estimation 17 acres then or late in the tenure of Thomas Fowler and now of Button Wingate and close of pasture in Wootton containing by estimation 4 acres late in the tenure of Thomas Pancost and now of Button Wingate. Yearly rent a Peppercorn. - Deed of 18 July 1650 wherein Edmund Wingate, Button Wingate and Henry Chester to Anthony Croftes of Grayes Inn - all that capital messuage with appurtenances in Wootton then in the tenure of Thomas Fowler and also all two closes of pasture adjoining to the said messuage and containing by estimation 5 acres and that one other close of pasture known as Clostead [?] containing 6 acres and all those arable lands and meadows and pastures in the common fields and meadows of Wootton containing together 126 acres usually enjoyed together with the said messuage and then or late in the tenure of Thomas Fowler and also all that one close of pasture called Brownes Brache containing by estimation 16 acres with close of meadow adjoining containing by estimation 6 acres and all that one other close of meadow called Swaines Orchard containing by estimation 6 acres the last mentioned being in the tenure of Button Wingate, and all that one close of pasture called Calves Close containing by estimation 9 acres then or late in the tenure of Thomas Gurney. One penny rent, redemption £912. - Indenture dated 12 Feb 1652 Edmund Wingate, Button Wingate and Henry Chester to Rose Aspley (see X53/99 for details). - Deeds Lease and Release of 11/12 March 1656 wherein Button Wingate son and heir of Edmund Wingate to Thomas Yarway of London in trust for Robert Yarway – all that in the first three recited deeds (except for the close of pasture called Brownes Brache containing by estimation 16 acres and with a close of meadow containing by estimation 6 acres mentioned in the deed of Mortgage to Anthony Croftes) and also a close containing five acres being part of a close in Wootton purchased of Matthew Fowkes as the same then lay severed from the rest of the said close in the occupation of Matthew Fowkes and all those aarable lands, meadows and pasture lying dispersed in the common fields and meadows of Wootton containing by estimation 71 acres then or late in the occupation of Button Wingate which were also purchased by Edmund Wingate of the said Matthew Fowkes. - Deed of 29 May 1657 Brownes Braches by an estimated 16 acres with a close or parcel of meadow adjoining by estimation 6 acres were by mistake left out of the last recited indenture but were intended to and should have been sold and are released to Thomas Yarway in trust for Robert Yarway. - Deed of 17 February 1657 between 1) Robert Yarway and 2) Thomas Yarway and 3) James Beverley of Begwray for the consideration therein mentioned 1) bargains, sells, demises and to farm and lett to 3) for 1000 years with provision for redemption on payment of £1319 10s. - capitall messuage and closes of land in the second recited indenture of lease mentioned to be demised to Anthony Croftes for the term of 99 years and also the messuage and 24 acres of land thereunto belonging in the occupation of John Flint and two closes of pasture containing 17 acres in the occupation of Thomas Fowler and a close of pasture containing 4 acres in the tenure of Thomas Pancost being part of the land mentioned in the first recited indenture of lease to be granted to the aforesaid Anthony Webb & John Wood for the term of 500 years. Yearly rent of one peppercorn. - Deed of 17 December 1663 between 1) Robert Yarway, Thomas Yarway and William Yarway 2) Elizabeth Smith (widow, relict and executor of Richard Smith citizen of London deceased) 3) Henry Royly, Edmund Page and William White. Marriage settlement in consideration of the intended marriage between Robert Yarway and Elizabeth Smith regarding all land in the first three recited indentures of lease. - 25th May 1664 Sir James Beverley grants to Charles Mitchell, citizen and grocer of London for the remainder of the term - Indenture 24 May 1665 Robert Yarway and Elizabeth his wife and Edmund Page and William White and Charles Mitchell for the sure payment of the portions of Martha Elizabeth Sarah Rebecca Galebetty Katherine and Mary Smith the children of Richard Smith which should become due and payable to them under the will of Richard Smith did grant etc to George Waterman Charles Doe and Thomas Bonfoy, aldermen of the city of London the premises recited in the last recited triparty indenture for 300 years with the provision for repayment of all sums borrowed. - Deed of 25 May 1665 1) Robert Yarway and Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Yarway Edmund Page and William White 2) George Waterman Charles Doe and Thomas Bonfoy 3) Henry Dodd of London gent reciting the two last recited indentures. - Death of Rebecca Smith Now this indenture the said John Wind and Elizabeth his wife in consideration of £210 paid by Robert Gale bargain and sell her portion for the rest of the term. Signed John Wynde and Elizabeth Wynde. Two seals over paper one tied round with cord. Endorsed with receipt for £210. Witnesses John Wing, Samuel Houghton, Robert Weston.
