    26th October 1909. My Lord Criminal Appeal Act, 1907 R. v. John Grout (Appellant) I have the honour to inform you that I have received a notice of Application for leave to Appeal against Conviction. From the above-named Appellant, a copy of which is enclosed, and to request you, pursuant to Rules 14 and 15 of the Criminal Appeal Rules, 1908, to forward me the original or a copy of your notes of the trial and at the same time to send to the Lord Chief Justice under cover addressed to me any Report on the Case you may desire to make. Should you desire to make a Report I will forward, at your request, copies of any other documents in my possession you may need.
