    Correspondence between G.I. Howard and Captain H.O. Roberts, Area Sub-Controller and A.R.P. Officer, and other senior officers includes: An invitation to a short lecture and reconnaissance demonstration at Bromham House; Invitation to a meeting of Control Room Officers on Thursday 7 October; Letter informing G.I. Howard of a training course at Bromham House (October 1943), where he was suggested as a candidate, to undertake examination in Anti-Gas measures, Incendiary Bomb control, Respiratory Drill and Fire Fighting; Letter informing Howard of a syllabus that has been attached in preparation for the training course; further letters inform Howard of an Ambulance that has been arranged to take him to Bromham House, and a letter excusing him of his duties throughout the duration of the L.A.R.P. training course; 25 November 1943 G.I. Howard was asked by the County Training Officer to deliver a five minute talk on Disinfection of the Medical Helmet Respirators at the L.A.R.P. training course. On 8 December 1943 Howard was informed of the examinations and their timings, which would take place the following Sunday. Following the examinations G.I. Howard was informed on 10 January 1944 of his success in passing the examinatins for L.A.R.P. and the certificate that would follow. Correspondece files also include: Invitation for training in Incident Control, with further letters congratulating G.I. Howard in successfully passing examination within this practice; A notice on abbreviations that should be used in all reports; Request on 11 April 1944, for G.I. Howard to inform the Area A.R.P. Officer of those attending his lecture to collect the names of possible volunteers for the Coastal Reinforcement Scheme; Letter with instruction of the certificate for Incident Control and the certificate enclosed; Confidential material including advice on rocket attacks.
