    Indenture of lease and release 11 and 12 Sept 1679 between 1) Thomas Bigg formerly of Flitton and then of Barton, gent trustee of lands and premises thereafter mentioned 2) Thomas Wallis of Houghton Regis, yeoman son of Sarah Wallis late of Houghton Regis, widow deceased who was one of the sisters and legatees of William Strange late of the parish of St Bartholomew exchange, London, grocer and citizen, tyler and bricklayer, London deceased 3) William Wallis of Houghton Regis and John Wallis two other sons of the said Sarah Wallis. Recites the will of William Strange in which he gave to the parson and churchwardens of the parish of Houghton and their successors to the use of the poor of the parish such are aged weak impotent and sickly poor housekeepers or other that frequent Gods ordinances and Divine Service and not Quakers or Common Beggars one annuity of yearly rent charge of 10 pounds yearly payable out of his messuage tenement farm lands or ground thereunto belonging containing by estimation about 140 acres lying in Houghton then in the possession of Edward Snoxall and to the parson and churchwardens of Dunstable another annuity or yearly rent charge of £10 for the use of the poor of the said parish. Both annunities to be paid to the respective parishes on St Thomas' Day 21 December yearly. To his sister Sarah Tonkins wife of Ralp Tonkins a yearly rent charge of £10 payable half yearly on Midsummer and Christmas Day. To Thomas Bigge and Robert Flemming London Merchant Taylor all that his two London tenements on trust to pay Sarah Wallis being then the wife of Thomas Wallis all the rents etc...
