    Recites indenture of December 1603 wherein Henry Astry of Woodend in the parish of Harlington conveyed to Thomas Gamble - all that close of pasture containing one acre more or less commonly called or known by the name of Spitle Close being in the parish of Dunstable with the dovehouse standing in it. To hold from the feast of St Michael the Archangel last for the term of 99 years. Now Thomas Gamble in consideration of a competent sum of money has granted bargained and sold to Reynolde Horne for the remainder of the term. Signed Thomas Gamble.
