    Correspondence in 1968 regarding the fostering out of children from the Foundling Hospital, London to 'the country'. The children were fostered from birth to about 5 years old. Parishes in Bedfordshire that were inspected for 'The Annual State of the Children' 1759-1791 were Arlesey, Aspley Guise, Bedford, Campton, Luton, Meppershall and Old Warden. The letter gives statistics for numbers boarded and deaths by age. The letter mentions that evidence of foundlings from London had been found in Bedfordshire parish registers.
