    Notes on John Bunyan's military service derived from the muster rolls of the Parliament Garrison of Newport Pagnell 1644-47 found at the Public Record Office in 1898. John Bunyan's name appears repeatedly with spellings 'Bunion' and 'Bunnion'. On 30th November 1644 he was mustered amongst the company of Colonel Richard Cockayne and on 17th June 1647 in the company of Colonel Charles O'Hara. All the musters in the volume are certified by Henry Whitbread as Muster Master.
