Copy Formal objection to the statue from Mrs Joy Clarke (wife of Brian Clarke - see AU45/1/27/9) in 4 points - '17th (sic) century French statue has probably come from a Catholic Church where the practice of bowing down and worshipping would have been quite common. Statue garishly painted & very depressing to look at . . the Holy Spirit has moved the church on and statues do not play a part in the plan of the Holy Spirit . . . Morally wrong to waste a lot of money . . .
