    13th June 1906 George William Grant of Leicester in the County of Leicester, Labourer (hereinafter called the Defendant), being an adult within the meaning of the Summary Jurisdiction Act, 1879, is this day charged for that he, on the 4th day of June 1906 at Kettering in the County first aforesaid, did feloniously steal one silver watch and one silver chain together of the value of One pound and seventeen shillings and sixpence the property of Frank Buckby. The Defendant having consented to be dealt with summarily is convicted of the said offence: And it is adjudged that the Defendant, for his said offence, be imprisoned in His Majesty’s prison at Northampton in the County first aforesaid and there kept to hard labour for the space of Two Calendar months.
