Previous conviction for Thomas Davis alias Arthur Bowman from Clerk of Assize that at Maidstone Kent, on 10th July 1902 he was found guilty of stealing 2 canvas bags , a purse and £15.12.6 the goods and monies of Stephen File on 18th May 1902 at Mersham. He was sentence to imprison ment and hard labour for nine months
