'The Pre and Post Reformation church in Shillington in the sixteenth century' and 'Prosperity and decline in nineteenth century Shillington' by Margaret E. Rees. Acquired 2004. The first covers graffiti in the church, architecture, bequests in local wills, Shillington gild (Fraternity of Jesus) which took responsibilty for members' funerals and the annual mass for the dead, an account of the fifteenth century service book, the major changes after the dissolution of the monasteries. The second covers straw plaiting, hat making, agricultural labouring, farming, coprolite digging, shops and other businesses, education, straw plaiting schools, housing, poverty, population.
