Notes on Sharnbrook Castle and Lodge Road written by James Collett-White in 1976 and updated in 2006. There is no evidence for a castle as such but Castle Close existed and maps imply defensive earthworks. The original Lodge Road was laid out in the enclosure as Colworth Road and the present road came later.
