    Depositor's note: "I found it among the papers of the last of that generation of Stimsons, my wife's uncle, who died recently at the age of 93. William Stimson senior, youngest son of Bailey Stimson of Littleport, Isle of Ely, born 16 Jul 1785, came into Bedfordshire in 1826, lived for a time at Renhold, and then moved to Marston (Moat Farm). He died 19 Aug 1878. His eldest son William (my wife's grandfather), was born 1811, died 1890, and had 6 sons and 7 daughters. His tenth child, Charles, was Town Clerk and died in 1920. William Stimson junior farmed Moat Farm for many years and then became an estate agent and surveyor and later a solicitor. Moat Farm, the property of the Duke of Bedford, was later bought by Mr Franklin, the coal merchant [see X135]
