  • Scope and Content
A covering letter from the donor explains that the deeds relate to two semi-detached cottages known as Nos 5 and 7 Moor End Lane. On the 1901 Ordnance Survey map at least one other cottage was on the land but was believed to have been demolished in the 1920s [the site boundaries seem to change significantly between the three editions of the 25 inch OS]. There were also barns and outbuildings. The cottages were owned by the Bliss family who moved from Stewkley Bucks to Moor End Lane in around 1906. During the 1930s ownership passed to Arnott Tearle, who had married Martha G Bliss in 1930. Mr Tearle died in 1981 and Mrs Tearle stayed on at the cottage to about 1995. The property was then bought by a couple called Pratt who combined the two cottages into one and modernised the property.
