Scope and Content
Traces history through ownership by St John of Bletsoe to Thomas Cobbe, sale to John Orlebar, sale to William & John Gibbard and inheritance by John Gibbard in 1800. By 1809 the house, buildings and garden was owned by Miss Elizabeth Gibbard with the rest as part of the estate of John Gibbard. By 1910 it had passed to LG Stileman-Gibbard and by 1927 it had been sold to Dr Walter Key Parbury. Includes description of the house and account of its later development once Dr Parbury moved to Bedford. Account of the work of Dr Parbury's daughter, sculptress Kate Parbury, who carved Dr Parbury's memorial stone in Sharnbrook Parish Church.
