Examinations & depositions - Information of Thos. Geo. Collings, Dunstable, watchmaker; a man calling himself John Humbles went into his shop and offered a silver watch for sale. On being asked his christian name he said he didn't know it 'he had a great many'. He said at first he came from Banbury but on being asked his name again he gave it as James Finch and said he came from Watford and bought the watch in London 3 months previously. Suspecting the watch to be stolen Collings asked the man to call the following morning and gave information to Mr Page, Leighton Buzzard, watchmaker.
