He was walking in the fields at Houghton Conquest with John White of Bromham and William Taylor of Houghton Conquest when they saw a great coat lying on the ground, John White picked it up. John Finch was working in the field at the time. Examination of John White. They thought it would be worth nine shillings and he agreed to have it and give the others part of the money he made out of it. See also QSR1818/348.
