  • Scope and Content
James Oliver came to his shop and offered him a grate for 'five halfpence'. Whybrow told him it was worth at least sixteen pence and enquired where he got it. Oliver said it belonged to his master and mistress who kept a public house in Northamptonshire but they had moved to Leighton Buzzard. As he had no money Whybrow asked Oliver to come back the following night and meanwhile tell his mistress what it was worth. Next day the grate was claimed by John Roberts.
