    Information of Thomas Crawley of Little Bramingham, Luton. His father lost a she ass with a foal. Information of John Taylor; he found the ass in a barn belonging to 'one Waller.' Information of Thomas Deacon; he found Thomas Crawley's ass and foal in his turnip field and put them into his yard. He later missed them and suspected William Gates and John Ware of taking them. He went in pursuit and found them at Barton in the cistody of the constable of Hexton, Hertfordshire. Information of Elizabeth Arnold; Gates and Ware asked her if the donkeys in Deacon's yard were all his. They claimed one belonged to them. Soon after they left she missed Crawley's donkey 'from the foal crying after it'. Information of William Sharpe of Hexton: Mr Deacon asked him to look out for anyone his description of two men. Later that evening two men called at his house with the donkey and he sent for the constable who took them into custody.
