Examinations and depositions: Information of Ann, wife of Wm. Hillyard, Hockliffe, labr. She hung a drab or brown coloured smock frock on a hedge to dry. It was later stolen and Jas. Chase and Geo. Tucker went in pursuit of a man who was supposed to have stolen it. They shortly returned with Thos. Holloway who had the smock on. (see 1824/392-4)
