    Examinations and depositions: Information of Harry. Rich. Chichley, Lidlington, farmer and dairyman. His barn was broken open and a winnowing sheep padlock and sack belonging to him were stolen, also a flail belonging to his ‘Tasker’ Thos. Landsbury. Later he identified the sack and padlock, which had been found on Jos. Tring when he had been taken into custody by the constable of Gt Brickhill. Information of Rich. Knight, constable of Gt Brickhill. Wm. Pantling of Gt Brickhill, labr., brought several articles to him which he said he had taken from Tring in the Red Lion, Gt Brickhill where he was being held in custody. Knight arrested Tring. Information of Wm. Pantling of Gt Brickhill, labr.; Tring offered the articles to him for 5/- but accepted the offer of 2/-. They were hidden in the wood. On telling Mr Cherry the overseer, he became suspicious and took them to Knight. Information of Thos. Lansbury, Lidlington, ‘Barn Tasker’ to Mr Chichley; identifies the flail as his property. Information of Sam. Sinfield, Lidlington, shepherd; identifies a barn sheet as Mr Chichley’s property, he having mended it.
