  • Title
    Depositions of Joseph Kennings of Bedford, constable. Describes how he, Negus, Prior and Warden, other constables of Bedford, were watching the shop of William Stennett. Saw Stephen Brittain enter; soon afterwards Joseph Kennings went into Stennett's yard 'by the Bull in Gaol Lane.' Although there was no-one in the yard he saw some sheep skins 'laying near the dunghill.' Mr Warden arrested John Edmunds. There was a wheelbarrow in the yard which John Manyweathers, another constable, claimed as his property. Information of Samuel Negus of Bedford, constable; similar to the foregoing.
