    Examination of John Thomas. Lodges at 42 Red Cross Street, Barbican, London at the Three Tuns alehouse kept by John Chappel and worked with Mr Carside of Whitechapel at his trade of a butcher. He denies the charge and says that if the persons who stopped him had asked he would have told them where he bought the pigeons. Being asked where and of whom he had bought them 'he says he does not know the name of the town nor of the person but it was at market yesterday, and he should know the man again.'Examination of John Adams. He lodges at No. 1 Jacob's Wall Passage, Barbican - Mr Charles Russell is the owner. He also denies the charge and says theu bought the pigeons 'at a market town but does not know the name of the town or person, but should know the person again ...'
