He and Joseph Ashwell of Moggerhanger agreed to meet outside Col. Campbell's gate at midnight to rob the shop. He slept under a hedge until that time. He took down the shutter, Ashwell cut the frame, and Vines got in and passed the goods out to Ashwell. They then went to Moggerhanger and slept in a hovel.
