  • Scope and Content
She put money in a chest of drawers in the bedroom. Found later that the chest had been broken into; two servants denied all knowledge of theft and willingly agreed to have their possessions searched, which produced nothing. The money was eventually recovered from 2 rat holes in the 'club room'. Mary Perkins had remarked that Jane Judd [Bartram?] (her chambermaid) had been at different times much longer than her busines required in the said club room, particularly on the evening 'when the money was missed.'
