    The road through Little Brickhill became less busy when the M1 opened in 1959 but the volume of traffic increased again sharply as Milton Keynes was developed resulting in significant congestion. In 1992 the A5 was redirected through a by-pass around Little Brickhill and this road was by 2021 little used.
