Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre, part of a community rail partnership on the Bedford to Bletchley line, was at this time promoted as a destination for its lunches and afternoon teas, gift shop and museum in the Victorian ticket office. People were encouraged to travel by train to visit the station by being offered a discount on food.
