    Bantams and ducks. Bad thunderstorm. Ike has gone with Will to the Royal Show. Bill and Dorothy had an invitation to go to Windsor on Sunday and see over the Home Farm. Don’t like the weather its like the year we were married. Honeysuckle, roses ‘Hope your Peace come out…’ doesn’t care much for pink Delphiniums. Tom seems to be doing well, should like to see the girls again some time. Olive likes the washing machine. ‘People round here are all getting pressure cookers and I think we shall have one, they are supposed to save the Electricity quite a lot...Joe and Miriam went to the Review they were on HMS Perseus. Tea at Roxton nice house Norma says one of the best things about it is they can come down and see all their friends. Did not hear any of Gloriana. Olive went to see the decorations one day with a coach trip. Giles went on Sat with Frank & Mary but did not see the illuminations. Giles told us that the Coronation chair was a dirty old thing…’
