  • Scope and Content
Thanks for interesting letter which Minnie forwarded. Thinks from Elsie’s description of her home that is to be that Elsie is a very lucky girl. Seems to have a lot of furniture and garden sounds pretty…suggestions for wedding presents to furnish one of the rooms. Has written to Mother ‘Both Harry & you have got to an age when it is best to be married & there is nothing to wait for Edith to come home is the only sensible solution…’ comments on servants 'Miss C was rather too too at times...Miss M altho a very nice girl, seems more like having another child to look after, when she came she was no more domesticated than Joyce. I think she is getting a bit better, but I dont feel to have any confidence in her because she is such a child this morning I asked her to cut some sandwiches for Willie - well you never saw such things'. Doesn’t see the sense in going to Tot to be married as would need a licence for there or London. Willie please to get letter. Will send recipe book. Wishes could do some sewing for Elsie advises her to have one or two nice blouses made 'not ready made tho I forget they are not worn so much as whole dresses' as when she was married didn’t have anything decent except going away dress and wedding dress.
